    SPEAKER PROFILES

Clemens Rossberg – “Setting up a company: Mistakes you should only make once.”

In March 2006, Clemens co-founded fonYou, a mobile operator (www.fonyou.com) and technology solutions provider (www.fonyoutelecom.com) based in Barcelona. fonYou has invented the Online Mobile Telephony Concept, which gives customers total control of their mobile telephony services and gives them direct access to their call records, text messages and voicemails through any web browser.

Prior to fonYou, Clemens co-founded NextGen Consulting (www.nextgen.es), a consultancy firm where he acted as Partner. NextGen, set up in London in 1999 and with its headquarters in Barcelona since 2000, provided highly specialised financial planning and analysis services to the telecom and internet industries.

Before NextGen, Clemens worked in Lehman Brothers’ Telecom & Media group in London where he was involved in major European M&A deals. Prior to that, he was in the business planning department of mobile operator One (Austria) where he was part of a team that raised ATS 7.5 bn in debt financing.

Clemens has given classes in financial modelling at the finance institute of the University of Vienna and holds a degree in international business management from that university (specialisation in capital markets).

Wyatt Rosental – “Start-ups: The Early Days”

Wyatt Rosental was previously founder and CEO of Loop Telecom S.L.. Loop was founded in 1998 and Wyatt signed financing deals with equity investors, financial institutions and government that ranked Loop as one of largest telecom deals in 2001. Loop grew to become the second largest DSL service provider in Spain and was sold to a Spanish telecommunications operator in 2002.

Prior to Loop, he worked in various financial positions for Transamerica Financial and Bank of America in Los Angeles, USA, as well as Director of Business Development for Genmedica Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company based in Barcelona, Spain. He was also Director of Operations for Pace Enterprises in Mexico.

Currently, he runs Afora Invest, an investment fund dedicated to the acquisition and management of assets in Bulgaria.

Wyatt completed an MBA at IESE in Barcelona, and is currently completing a doctorate in Biostatistics and Data Mining at the Universitat de Barcelona. He is an occasional lecturer at IESE, one of Europe’s leading business schools, based in Barcelona.

For this month’s talk we are delighted to welcome Florian Mueck, on the Art of Public Speaking

Public speaking is not a task, public speaking is an art.

Based on his upcoming publication “The Seven Minute Star” Florian MĂŒck will help you to climb up 15 simple steps to where you will find your seven minutes of glory – on stage:

You will learn how to release the hand brake. You will be motivated to be as transluscent as ice-cold water. You will learn how to surprise your audience. You will look deeply into your eyes. You will set your voice free. You will see how your body can talk. You will explore the power of 3D. You will learn how to create any speech in just ten minutes. You will arm yourself with new rhetorical weapons. You will listen to Florian’s own stories. You will be shown how to steal credibility without being a thief. You will laugh. You will be more enthusiastic than Michael Jordan. You will be engaged by passion. And, most importantly, you will rediscover your smile!

    January 22nd, 2010

A very happy new year to all ENB members.

As you know, we have invited a wide variety of speakers along to our meetings over the past couple of years, and we thought it was time to get the membership more involved in helping us select suitable speakers for the future.  Therefore, we would very much appreciate your responses to the following questions:

    1) Do you know anyone who would be a good speaker on a topic relevant and of interest to entrepreneurs in Barcelona?  If so, please send us their name and contact details, and we will happy to have a conversation with them about the possibility of doing so.

    2) Which topics would be of most interest to you for future talks and presentations?

    3) Any other comments/suggestions on how we can maximise the benefit to members from the group.

Please email us at info@networkbarcelona.com with responses.

    Best regards,
