For this month’s talk we are delighted to welcome Florian Mueck, on the Art of Public Speaking

Public speaking is not a task, public speaking is an art.

Based on his upcoming publication “The Seven Minute Star” Florian Mück will help you to climb up 15 simple steps to where you will find your seven minutes of glory – on stage:

You will learn how to release the hand brake. You will be motivated to be as transluscent as ice-cold water. You will learn how to surprise your audience. You will look deeply into your eyes. You will set your voice free. You will see how your body can talk. You will explore the power of 3D. You will learn how to create any speech in just ten minutes. You will arm yourself with new rhetorical weapons. You will listen to Florian’s own stories. You will be shown how to steal credibility without being a thief. You will laugh. You will be more enthusiastic than Michael Jordan. You will be engaged by passion. And, most importantly, you will rediscover your smile!

Next ENB Meeting

January 22nd, 2010

A very happy new year to all ENB members.

As you know, we have invited a wide variety of speakers along to our meetings over the past couple of years, and we thought it was time to get the membership more involved in helping us select suitable speakers for the future.  Therefore, we would very much appreciate your responses to the following questions:

1) Do you know anyone who would be a good speaker on a topic relevant and of interest to entrepreneurs in Barcelona?  If so, please send us their name and contact details, and we will happy to have a conversation with them about the possibility of doing so.

2) Which topics would be of most interest to you for future talks and presentations?

3) Any other comments/suggestions on how we can maximise the benefit to members from the group.

Please email us at info@networkbarcelona.com with responses.

Best regards,

The ENB team

TALK: Is your business as efficient as it could be?

Michael Egan & Miguel Angel Blanca, Spence Clarke S.L.
“Business Accounting and Tax Made Simple”

We have all been to presentations on how to set up a company; the capital required, lawyers, escrituras, notaries and so on. But once the company is set up, are we so busy rushing around getting clients and providing them with goods and services that without knowing it we are wasting money, and not operating as efficiently as we could be? Do we really understand what is contained and revealed in the accounts prepared by our accountants? Could we be more cost efficient? Could we be more tax efficient? In the current economic climate, the companies that come through successfully will be those that not only look carefully at their product offering, sales, and marketing, but that also take care of their costs.

We are delighted to announce that the presentation for this month’s ENB meeting on Thursday, 19th November at 19:30 will be given by Michael Egan and Miguel Angel Blanca of Spence Clarke S.L. They will be covering topics such as:

- Knowing your accounts, do you really understand what you are declaring in your accounts?
- Tax (a cost of doing business)
- Budgeting and tax planning for new businesses
- Vehicle for trading (Company vs. Sole Trader) Capital allowances
- How to complete your own accounts
- Changes to tax laws and tax rates 2009/2010

These are topics which many  entrepreneurs often leave to one side while they “do business”.  We hope that this presentation will help us all take this key area more seriously.

PLEASE BE SURE TO REGISTER EARLY so as to avoid disappointment. You can register by emailing us with your name and company to: info@networkbarcelona.com

Please also be sure to arrive punctually, ideally by 19.10/19.15, in order to complete registration before the talks. The talks will start at 19.30 and it may not be possible to enter once they have done so.
